Why HR should bet on new technology [INFOGRAPHIC]
Are you on the cutting edge of these emerging HR tech trends? So what’s the next wave of technology that HR will be riding? A look at the near future:
- video interviews
- Big Data
- gamification, and
- social media and mobile recruting.
That’s according to Spark Hire, which compiled an informative infographic on the topic.
Here’s a closer look at some of the technology that’ll be shaping HR’s jobs in the future.
Video interviews
We’ve known for a while that video interviews have been becoming more popular – Spark Hire notes that over six out of every 10 HR managers uses video interviews.
Perhaps more relevant, however: In the time it takes to conduct just one phone screen, HR pros could host 10 video interviews. Not too shabby.
Mobile recruiting
Just as many HR pros have finally figured out social media recruiting, another new challenge comes along: mobile recruiting.
By 2016, there will be more smartphones than people on the planet, and that means more people will be doing more things on their phones.
That doesn’t bode well for many firms, though — only 7% have a mobile version of their career website, despite the fact that 70% of applicants use their phones to find open jobs.
Big Data
There’s a lot to be said for doing your homework, as many employers who’ve crunched a lot of data to get the best employees can attest.
Big Data can help recruiting managers and HR pros sort through the seemingly never-ending noise that’s getting tossed at them everyday.
And though Big Data can be uber-expensive upfront, it also can have uber-great results: Big Data is expected to generate $3.7 trillion in services and products and 4.4 million new jobs by 2015.
