One online community held a contest to see who could create the best way to explain the Affordable Care Act. This was the winner.

As you know, the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is an extremely long and confusing piece of legislation. As a result, there’s no shortage of tools out there — white papers, videos, graphics, etc. — to help break down the finer points of the law.

This “transparency contest” was hosted by GOOD, an online community that aims to drive local collaboration and grass roots progress.

For the contest, participants were asked to create a healthcare reform infographic explaining some or all of these aspects of the law:

  • What has changed?
  • What has remained the same?
  • How much does it cost? Save?
  • Who does it effect?

Nate Clancy’s submission won the Best Overall category and can be seen below. However, there were also winners in the categories of Best Information and Best Design.
