Bottled air: The next big thing in employee perks?
In an era when companies compete to offer the most outlandish employee perks, we believe we’ve discovered the winner.
Bottled air. And not just any air — the fresh, clean piney air of the Canadian Rockies.
We’re not kidding, A company called Vitality Air is selling the stuff in two, uh, flavors: Lake Louise and Banff. It’s offered in metal canisters (the three-liter size, which retails for $20, is advertised as containing “aproximately 80 breaths of fresh air”).
What better way to improve employee alertness, productivity and morale? And what a great addition to your wellness program.
A sniff of the great outdoors
According to a story on CNN.com, the company says it’s now seeing huge demand from Chinese customers.
Now, you’re probably not facing air quality conditions that make people keel over at their workstations, but wouldn’t a sniff of the great outdoors make your employee engagement rates soar?
All right, the idea seems mildly idiotic at first glance. But remember — an awful lot of people snickered when somebody suggested there’d be an actual market for bottled water.
